Goodbye OR, Hello ER
Kamusta nga naman ang tadhana ano? After may experience in ER last, last week, syempre natuwa ako dun at nagkaroon ako ng thought na parang gusto kong mag-duty in ER...and so last Friday, our first duty rotation officially ended pero syempre before pa sabihin kung saan kami magduduty for our 2nd rotation, naroon pa rin ung wishful thinking ko na sana ma-retain ako sa OR even if some of the staff there have attitude problems kasi nga naman halos one month din ako nag-duduty dun at medyo gamay ko na ang mga gagawin in OR at comfortable na rin ako dun. But unfortunately, nalipat ako sa ER, which is very shocking to me kasi nga naman hindi ko pinili ang area na yun when we were asked kung ano yung area of preference namin. Sa aking pagkakaalala, I chose ICU, OR, MS ward, Center for Kidney Disease and Post-Anesthetic Care Unit (PACU)...I never chose ER kasi nga feeling ko hindi ko kaya dun at wala akong skills para maging isang ER nurse. Pero kung magbiro nga naman ang tadhana e dun pa ako pinadpad...ok lang sana if I were assigned in the Clinical Division (CD) kasi kahit papaano I already knew some of the nursing staff dun (if you remember, sa ER-CD ako nag-IV completion) pero hindi e, I was assigned in the Pay Division at syempre as usual meron nanamang mga rumors about sa mga staff dun (like dun sa OR). Ewan ko ba at parang ayaw akong bitawan ng Pay Division, hindi man lamang pina-experience sa akin ang CD.
Anyways, tomorrow start na ulit ng bagong duty ko and this time sa ER na nga ako mag-duduty. Hopefully, by the end of the day (at week na rin), wala sana akong ma-experience na problem in terms of the nursing staff dun. Ang mahirap kasi e nag-uumpisa ka palang at wala pang experience tapos nag-aadjust ka pa sa area, pero ung mga senior staff dun hindi man lamang supportive sa'yo at kelangan mo pang pakisamahan.
