SPM is over for me.

Posted by OctoberFly @ 06:38 PM in My Cyber Journal | permalink

SPM 2008 is not officially over yet. Well, good luck for all the accounts' student. Especially to Eunice, Wee kor, Wai Yi, Yaozz and other buddies :D Sorry if your name is not mentioned here [I have problem identifying who's taking accounts]

Well, mayb for most people; its like heaven to finish their SPM but not to me. It feels like my life is over. It's like I don't know what's gonna happen next! Even when I finish my PMR, I know that I'm going to be a Form 4 senior and yes I still have SPM ahead of me. But now? No! It's totally different. My life feels so empty now. It's like I can't study! [Yes, I'm used to reading books now after trying hard to adapt myself into studying during SPM]. What I'm gonna do, where I'll gonna be; it's all just some mystery I have to find out myself. Geez, this sucks really.

I bought an inline skate [a cheapscake one] finally yesterday. So I tried to skate [unfortunately] with my skirt on. Yes I've forgotten to change and stuff. Geez! I fell. Haha, lame person.

I've been playing highstreet 5 now. Hey, it's really nice; my character is exactly pretty [sadly unlike me]. So try it out!

Book love day on Fully Book Bloggers Event

Today I went to the Fully Booked Bloggers Event.  One of those events that I seriously had the most fun (well, there was that food tour which was also just as good)

Was on the table with these poeple:

with Ria, Marco, and Jonel.  Not included were Carl, Ada, and anoher girl whose name I forgot.  opps!

cos some biatch was bitchy. lulz

Basically we got a field trip around the store in High Street, sat through a film showing about Fully Booked (who knew they have a film showing place right?).

this is the inside of my dream house: a floor to ceiling shelves filled with books

kiddie books with tour guide! (just like your everyday field trips)

Two words I can't forget from the short film: oral pleasures.  That was how they described the listening stations, and yeah, I have a durty mind. pbfft!

Food was from Hizon's.  Loved it!  Especially the desserts, except for the mangoes with cream, most tasted like fake mangoes (a.k.a. mango-flavored gulaman. then again, most likely they are gulaman.).

some of the foodies

my fave!

Best part of the night was the free book give-aways!  We got two books free (I got an extra one c/o Marco. Thank you!)  Ria, Jonel, and Az won in the trivia contest (lucky lucky!), so they got one extra free book and a cute USB.

here's my book loot!

Then there was this Bloggers Book Club.  I wasn't paying much attention to what the speaker was saying, but it went something like you write a review of a book, if they like your review, they'll post it on their site for a week, then you get an FB php 1,000 GC.  This I think they'll start on January.  There's also a Twilight trivia raffle contest.  You check their site for the trivia question, more stuff you answer, more entries for raffle for you.  If you win, you get a Twilight movie guide.  Uh-huh.  Yeah, I'd love to own that (sarcasm right here.  sorry still can't stand it.).

four new books to go through (Survivor I bought from the Palma kiosk)

*was going to take more pictures, unfortunately, battery was empty na. sad really.

**will post links to other pics when people start uploading 'em.

what drives you?

Posted by cigarette_girl @ 10:53 PM in Bobbing for Apples | permalink

So I’m leaving pretty soon, and company says I need to learn how to drive.  Obviously, I’d need a car to drive as well.  Now, while I absolutely adore those 2-door car things, the most practical car I think I should get is an SUV.  No, not because it’s so when I hit something (like maybe another car, but most likely some post at the side of the round), it would be less likely for me to get smashed.  Nope, nothing like that, although that in itself is good enough reason for me.  It’s really because SUVs are better with all types of road in different types of weather.  And having to go through all 4 season, I think I should really start learning how to handle those big things.

Looking through list of cheap SUVS (meaning $15k or less), the nicest thing I saw was the 2008 Scion xD.  This suvs site was helpful enough to include a review of the car.  So apparently, pretty car I like has its downside (duh!): sluggish and with questionable safety features.  I don’t really get what sluggish in that sense means though.  Now if it’s going to be buy anything you want I’d be getting a BMW X5-series.  They are gorgeous!

I am such a sell out.  Yeah, paid.

Banana Flan

A lot of people didn't get what they expected when I told them I'd bring them a banana flan.

It actually had a crust. blank.gif

Well, let's get it straight, fellas.  According to Mr. Webster, a flan is:

an open pie containing any of various sweet or savory fillings; custard baked with a caramel glaze.

Heh.  So this is my banana flan:

This particular banana flan is made out of the sugar dough (for the pie crust), the melted chocolate to hold the crust together, the pastry cream (more popularly known as Bavarian cream, and of course the bananas, and the garnishing on the side.

Baboysai's tip of the day:

Don't overlook the secret ingredient!

Here's why.  I actually kept tasting my cream and I didn't want it too sweet because I don't like sweets that are well, too sweet.  And I thought it was actually perfect, when all of a sudden Chef Alex (our pastries instructor) poured All purpose cream into the Bavarian cream that T and I and perfected. shock.gif  He said it was a secret to make our cream even creamier bored.gif but at that point we could no longer add sugar to adjust the taste.  Hanya?  He should have told us what was coming.  But well, maybe he did it on purpose. For some reason unknown to me.  So the result was fine, not BTS-kind of good, but just fine.  Like, probably a 7/10.

And here's us in uniforms:

Spanking, huh?

I kick ass.

This would be today's blog entry had I not received the good news this afternoon

Because I had a really sucky, pointless day, I share my (mis)fortune to everyone out there reading my blog.  I give you 12 movie spoilers to ruin your day (night, week, whatever)

And no, I am not talking about movies like Snape killed Dumbledore, or that Jacob is really destined for Bella's daughter Renesmee, or even that Darth Vader is Luke's father.  Nope, not those.  Guess which movies these are from:

(you've been warned)

Misery and Drama

Posted by artistm0nk @ 12:55 AM in | permalink

This is the 21st century and life is supposed to be "better". But we find ourselves more miserable, instead. And our misery is our own fault!

Well, the virus is gone. The PC is fixed. The PC will now be for heavy activites, like audio-visual editing and Photoshop. ZERO internet on the PC. When the UMPC arrives (Linux OS), all internet activites will be on it.

You know you've been spending way too much time online when you feel negative over the smallest of things. And you're not even PMS-ing! So someone called you names at some forum. So someone wants to lock out people from her blog and you're not included in the friends-list. So some child is dying from hydrocephalous in Africa. So an artist starved a dog during an exhibit at some gallery.

All of them from the internet, and not in real life. All of them not in any way connected with you, personally. Yet, you're so stirred up from all the drama.

Yo, chill!

Turn off the computer and go out, every now and then! Take a stroll in the park! Read a book! Do yoga! Watch a movie! Yes, it is okay to jostle and stand in line for the tickets. It is okay to sit in a crowded room while fellow movie-goers keep hitting the back of your seat with their feet. Sure, go... blog and create internet drama about it.... but that won't solve your problems. Especially when the problem is YOURSELF.

Be thankful it's real, even the annoyances in REAL life. It builds character. It keeps you human. As for internet drama, it's just irrational overreaction to trivial matters on the Interweb.

Switch off the computer, take a break. See the great outdoors.

For starters, there is a new branch of Fullybooked at Shangri-la EDSA Hotel. Punta tayo! There is an outdoor veranda with tables and chairs. I hang out there, with a book, a cup of coffee and a friend. Feel free to join me if you're around the area. Let's chat.

This is not the end.

Posted by OctoberFly @ 09:41 PM in My Cyber Journal | permalink

Maybe to everyone, death is just another end for our lives. And to certain people, death is just a beginning. To me, death was almost the end and I almost believe it.

After we are officially dead, people don't talk about you anymore. They try to avoid your name in conversations and even in their life. This is just what it appears to be; I mean, this is just what you see, but in life, there are much more that can't be seen. People remembers you. They think about  you, maybe not in the outside but in the inside.

Sometimes when you try to look back at their pictures, you'll felt like; these aren't people I know. Yes, maybe after a long time their image in your head doesn't not looked like the one in the glossy printed paper. Sad or frustrated, you have to face it. Their faces don't belong in your head anymore. Only their heart, their actions are left in you head.

There are even times when you realize you have completely forgotten them. Their faces, their voices and their eyes. It's okay, believe me. They left their name in your heart, they left their memories with you. Although the times you enjoyed with them seemed to be a little like a dream but you know it's real. Yes, it's real.

This is not the end. They are in your heart, they are growing silently in your heart. Because every breath you take and every step you make brings you closer to them, in a good way of course.  Just remember that you have loved them and you still do love them no matter how far they are and no matter how they looked like in your head.

When you felt like you don't know what you're living for, stand up and search for it. Do not whine in the corner. We are born for one reason and I was born to love.

"The dead will never be dead when there is someone loving them. They survived; in the heart of their belover."

ABOUT THIS JOURNAL

Welcome to this small space of mine where you can read some thoughts running in my mind. Long ago, I thought of writing stories of my own but I ended up collecting stories already known. I thought of having a journal of my life, but I ended up doing nothing on my site. I thought of having a journal for my dreams, but I ended up staring in my computer screen. So in the end, I decided to just put anything in here and be satisfied in my seat!

Welcome to my blog..explore the site and enjoy the stories I've collected, the poems I've made and the things I've learned in a storybook called 'LIFE'. :D

And PLEASE do LEAVE a COMMENT after READING some of the ENTRIES! Thanks a lot!!!
